Engineering & Management

Hydrok offer extremely high level of service and support at all stages of a project. Initial contact is usually through one of our client consultants at which time the enquiry is allocated a file number that will follow the project through to completion.

Budget estimates will be provided on request and fully itemised quotations with conceptual drawings provided within fourteen working days if required. Upon receipt of an official order, drawings will be issued for approval. A comprehensive fleet of Hydrok vehicles ensure our qualified site engineers are also available to carry out an installation service as and when required. Commissioning, as required, will also be carried out by our own fully trained engineers.

Once installed our products are supported by our maintenance engineers, we maintain a stock of spare parts that enables us to respond within 24 hours for the service of standard products.

In-House Manufacturing

Hydrok has a history of providing engineering solutions for the Water Industry and is the largest manufacturer of static and mechanical CSO Screens in Europe. Our manufacturing facilities operate within purpose built modern facilities using up-to-date machinery. Our tool room facilities occupy around 8,000 square feet and provide every aspect of precision engineering, with CNC lathes, machining centres, surface and cylindrical grinders, spark eroding, and skilled personnel.

Our fabrication area occupies over 10,000 square feet, allowing for very large structures to be assembled on the premises. This area includes 2 internal overhead cranes plus a vacuum lift for the safe handling of large sheets. A further external overhead crane has been installed allowing for space to be optimised and vehicle loading to be speeded up. The cranes allow Hydrok to handle large and complex assemblies and structures permitting more ‘offsite’ manufacturing to meet the market demands and health and safety requirements ‘onsite’.

The fabrication area is fully equipped with the most up-to-date welding plant (including a state-of-the-art auto pipe welder, a heavy duty spot welder and the latest synergic welders). New software introduced in the design office has direct links to all the CNC machines which includes CNC guillotines and CNC press brakes. A Bystronic laser cutter, able to cut up to12mm stainless steel with a sheet size of 3,000mm x 1,500mm, has been complimented by a Bystronic water cutter able to cut a variety of materials up to150mm thick, plus rollers with manipulators and a bespoke stainless steel sheet storage system to enhance the efficiency of the manufacturing process.

In addition to the general fabrication facilities a further 2,000 square feet is devoted to production welding of thin wall pipe. Using the latest CNC controlled automatic welding plant Hydrok can rapidly produce welded pipe to a consistent high quality.

By maintaining such a comprehensive UK manufacturing base Hydrok is able to provide traditional craft apprenticeships, many of our skilled engineers have trained within our own workshops and are now progressing into our management teams. This provides a high level of support to our designers, who also benefit from the graduate training programs that the company provides.
