Self cleaning CSO brush screen

Due to high hydraulic loading on existing foul sewer systems, Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs)
have been the object of much expenditure over the past few years. Many of these relief weirs
have been reengineered in an effort to improve the quality of sewer discharge into the
receiving watercourse.

The HydroClean Brush Screen is a highly effective self cleaning screening
system for use in areas where electrical power is unavailable or undesirable. The screen
is installed along the spill weir with the screening brush driven by the rotation of a
waterwheel drive. The rotating brush cleans the face of the screen and retains all screenings
greater than 6mm x 6mm in two dimensions within the foul sewer flow.
